IPS's Green Plan
The conservation of the environment is at the heart our daily concerns. To prove it, the IPS Green Plan guides our business decisions and actions. The plan is founded on two principles that are the recycling of recyclable materials and the contribution towards biomass.
The recycling of recyclable materials Thanks to our collaboration with our partners, we are currently working on a collecting and revaluing method of anything that can be recycled. This method will supply to our customers and suppliers a global for the collecting of recyclable materials. We will therefore be able to breathe a second life into thos matrials, all the while making life easier for our customers and suppliers.
Contribution to the biomass Biomass is the second most important source of renewable energy in Canada after hydro power. Biomass represents an enormous potential for our country since the reusage of wood-based waste would suffice to cater to all our needs in ethanol. The advancement of new technologies will soon allow us to produce fuel from materials such as wood, straw, hay and other waste.
When pallets cannot be repared, we use the wood residue to make pressed wood pannels or wood chips for heating. By favouring transformation technologies such as the one that transforms wood into fuel (renewable energy), we contribute to the decrease of usage of non-renewable fossil-fuel energy.
